That's perhaps how Powder-Trans's history can be summed up so far, when during 2022 we were able to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary, not least with a nice event in the spring that was fully appreciated by the attendees. And to borrow the title from our company history, we can state that we drive "with full tanks towards the future". Today, the company is very well prepared for future challenges with a state-of-the-art vehicle fleet, knowledgeable and trained employees and very good and loyal customers and partners. In 2022, we were also able to launch a completely new bulk combination on the Nordic market, when we presented the ultra-light equipment that we developed together with Nordic Tank. The undercarriage has been built almost exclusively in aluminium and has a record-breaking capacity. It has also been developed with a focus on load handling. A transport that is easy to operate for drivers in their daily work means efficiency, which is represented as cost savings. The project speaks for itself about where we are going. The driver shortage in the transport industry is beginning to have major consequences for the entire transport industry. For a long time, Powder-Trans has invested in driver training, interesting responsibilities and modern vehicles, which also benefits us in the current situation. We do not have a noticeable driver shortage and the average age of our drivers has fallen in recent years. And now we invest even more in training with a full-time instructor. Fuel prices are, of course, what overshadows the entire transport industry today, with companies being powerless to do anything about it. A modern vehicle fleet, where all vehicles are of the Euro 6 highest environmental class, is of course a significant factor in being able to counter the difficult situation. An increasing proportion of HVO environmental diesel also contributes to a more environmentally friendly operation, which is at the forefront of our development. As our anniversary year is drawing to a close at the time of writing, I would like to once again thank everyone who contributed to our father's one-man company becoming one of the Nordics' largest players in the bulk industry during its 50 years. Thanks to customers and suppliers as well as other partners, thanks to the staff and a thank you to the family! We have done it together, and we will continue to do so for the next 50 years! New ultralight bulk trailer ready for use The result of Powder-Trans and tank manufacturer Nordic Tank's joint project is now rolling on Nordic roads. The new combination was premiered at the Elmia Lastbil fair in Sweden in August. Shortly afterwards, the first test trip with cargo was made in Finland. The first trailer was used in public traffic by Powder-Trans CEO Fredrik Blomqvist and Nordic Tank's technical director Henri Mattila. The new equipment is the result of intensive collaboration between the two companies. “The underloading bulk trailer is developed to meet the customers' wishes, especially in Nordic conditions. The project has involved a year of planning and manufacturing work, but now we are at the finish line,” says Fredrik Blomqvist. On Powder-Trans's side, Fleet Manager Tero Viitanen has also worked intensively on the project. At Nordic Tank, Henri Mattila has led the project team. Lightest on the market Fredrik Blomqvist is satisfied with the project because it has resulted in the lightest equipment currently on the market. Apart from the trailer's front carriage, which is made of stainless steel, the main material is aluminium which reduces fuel consumption and increases load capacity. “Also, all the control equipment for the tanks is easily accessible for the driver. Ease of use means efficiency, which in turn provides cost savings,” says Blomqvist. ”Ease of use means efficiency” According to Nordic Tank's CEO Satu Heikkilä, the company’s goal is to create a significant product segment for dry bulk combinations, the first of which has now been developed via the project with Powder-Trans. “The goal of our five-year strategy is to expand production with new product ranges that support our current business,” says Heikkilä. Belief in growth Until now, Nordic Tank, with a factory in Oulu in northern Finland, has mainly manufactured liquid tank combinations for chemical and milk transport. The company was founded in 2016 and today has a turnover of nearly 7 million euros. The company is a leader in Finland and is now aiming for growth outside the main Nordic and Baltic markets. “Nordic Tank has high product quality products and customer-oriented production. In addition, we can deliver products with shorter delivery times than the industry average,” says Heikkilä. The collaboration between the two companies is an example of how the industry can develop together. Both Heikkilä and Blomqvist are very positive about such forms of partnership. The new trailer: • The new product is a type-approved vehicle combination with a tractor tank of 28 and a trailer of 45 cubic meters. • The trailer’s weight is 20,920 kilograms. The weight is low thanks to the use of light materials, such as aluminium. • The chassis of the combination consists of a Volvo FH500 TC 8x4 Tridem of 500 horsepower. • The transport also meets Swedish requirements and can operate in Sweden with a total weight of 74 tonnes. • The maximum total weight for the combination in Finland will remain at 75 tonnes until the transport and communications agency Traficom approves it for 76 tonnes. • The transport’s technical weight is 76 tonnes. 3

Long-awaited anniversa Powder-Trans's 50th anniversary attracted staff, customers, the public and other interested groups to Lieto in early May. The three days of festivities offered a huge program, interesting discussions, and many smiles. Celebrating 50 years of business is not something that happens every day. Therefore, it was a big event when Powder-Trans held their 50th anniversary party at the Finnish terminal and head office in Lieto at the beginning of May. The event began with greetings from CEO Fredrik Blomqvist, who also revealed some surprises during his speech. Among other things, the musicians Jussi and Peter Lindberg had written their own Powder-Trans song for the event. In addition, Blomqvist presented the new annual industry scholarship which is named after company founder Carl-Johan Blomqvist. You can read more about the scholarship on page 9. The program also included food and drink, guided tours, an exhibition about the company's history, more music, as well as an exhibition of both modern vehicle crews and restored vintage trucks. The days brought together old 4 friends and new acquaintances within and outside the industry. In addition, the festivities brought together current and former staff who were involved in growing Powder-Trans from a one-man company to the large Nordic company it is today. Three days of festivities ended with a staff party, which gave the company's founder Carl-Johan Blomqvist a chance to dance with his wife Sonja. One of the three anniversary days was dedicated to ers Petri Teräs, Markku Soini and Juha Vuorinen and right, Sture Holm can be seen explaining the compa Sweden. Full Tanks for the Future follows the story of Powder-Trans's creation, growth, successes, and setbacks in the years 1972–2022. The history also describes decisive stages and turning points in the transport industry, the public economy, and society at large. The focus is also on the people who together created Powder-Trans and ensured that important transports reached their destinations for the entire 50 years. The book is written by the historian and freelance writer Christoffer Holm and comprises 192 pages with abundant visual material. “The history of Powder-Trans is about much more than a company. It is the people behind it all who have made the company what it is today. In addition, the company has lived through incredibly interesting events in society’s development. Being able to summarize these stories between two covers has been a joy,” says Holm. The book is available for sale in bookstores and online bookstores in Finland and Sweden as well as directly from the publisher Litorale. It has been reviewed in industry magazines as a book that talks about both the industry and society, for readers within and outside the industry. Our customer A global giant with With operations in over 120 countries and around 7,000 employees, the petrochemical group Borealis is undoubtedly a global giant. With its roots in the Nordics, the company today invests heavily in the circular economy. In 1994 Borealis was formed through a merger of the petrochemical operations of Finnish Neste and Norwegian Statoil and Powder-Trans's first runs also began for the group. Today, the two companies have almost 30 years of collaboration behind them. Over the years, Borealis has grown from being Nordic-focussed to an international company with a turnover of around 7 billion euros. The head office has been in Vienna since 2006 and the majority owners have become Austrian, but the Nordic legacy is still visible. “Borealis strives to be a forerunner 6 The Latin word Borealis means "from the North". In the large picture the Borealis factory in Porvoo, Finland. in the development of the circular economy and has kept the customer at the centre even as we have grown into a global player. I myself live and work in Austria, but still strongly feel the Nordic culture in our company, where the employee's well-being is important.” So says Jukka Saario, contract manager for distribution at Borealis. Saario ”I believe PT's strength is reliability and quality” points out that a lot is required of a company to really be able to improve the circular economy and be environmentally friendly. Quality and innovation are crucial, but development must always be based on an environmental and safety perspective. “It's nice to work in a company where our common values are visible in everything we do,” says Saario. Unique market For these reasons, Borealis chose early on to start cooperating with Powder-Trans. Today, Powder-Trans is one of Borealis' three main suppliers in the Nordics. For the giant group the Nordics are a relatively small market, but one with unique conditions and customer expectations. In addition, one of Borealis' largest factories with nearly 1,000 employees is in Porvoo, Finland, as well as another smaller factory in Stenungsund, Sweden. “For these reasons, the work of Powder-Trans has been invaluable to us. When I started working at Borealis in 2019, it quickly became clear that

Nordic values Powder-Trans has a level of service that other companies aspire to,” says Saario. In more southern latitudes, the cooperation between the two parties is reduced, or as Saario points out with a twinkle in his eye: at least for now. Robin Rosenberg, Key Account Manager at Powder-Trans suggests the same. “The world and Borealis are significantly bigger than just our little knot in the Nordics, so there are certainly opportunities to develop and expand. We follow with interest Borealis' innovations in an ever-growing and changing industry, especially in the circular economy,” says Rosenberg. Saario is convinced that his successor will continue and develop the cooperation with Powder-Trans in the future. Long-term relationships and respect for the environment are important to Borealis. “I believe PT's strength is reliability and quality in everything they do. We have been very satisfied with the collaboration. Therefore, I also do not think that growth will slow.” Focus on recycling Borealis today manufactures various plastics for, among other things, the infrastructure sector, the automotive industry and the healthcare sector. In addition, plastic is manufactured for food packaging, energy and communication cables as well as water pipes. Many of the uses are vital to society, which is often forgotten when plastic is criticized. Powder-Trans appreciates that Borealis is among those who invest heavily in a circular economy in the plastics industry. “Plastic has a bad reputation because it is not yet recycled properly, but the benefits of plastic are truly great. The plastics industry, and especially Borealis, works very hard to get recycling to the right level,” says Fredrik Blomqvist, CEO of Powder-Trans. Borealis is today the second largest producer of polyethylene and polypropylene in Europe, and among the ten largest globally. In addition to the Nordics and Central Europe, factories are also located in South and North America and Asia. “In the future, Borealis will be an actor around the world. We strive to be a forerunner in alternative solutions for both current and future customers,” says Jukka Saario. A positive example At Powder-Trans, Robin Rosenberg is happy that Powder-Trans can be part of this development. “Borealis sets the bar for what development and operations at the top level should look like, and in transport we want to be the one that can be used as an example of what it looks like in practice,” says Rosenberg. The collaboration is professional at all levels in the chain and even though Borealis is a large multinational company, there is careful quality control and follow-up as well as a straight and open dialogue regardless of the challenge at hand. In recent years, PowderTrans and Borealis have worked hard to ensure that no plastic pollution occurs during transport. Borealis produces raw materials for plastics for many different uses. The environment Environmental award and new milestone In 2022, Powder-Trans has set a new environmental goal - that 100 percent of the vehicle fleet must be of the highest environmental class, Euro 6. In addition, the company's drivers have won first prize in a European competition for environmentally friendly driving. According to CEO Fredrik Blomqvist, that the entire vehicle fleet has the highest standard is important for both quality and environmental work at Powder-Trans. “The environmental standards are an important factor, but we work for a reduced environmental impact in many other ways, such as through our own technical solutions and above all driving behaviour,” says Blomqvist. ” The environmental standards are an important factor” Now Powder-Trans is also looking forward to the EU's introduction of the next environmental standard, Euro 7. Powder-Trans's goal is to continue to have as modern and environmentally friendly a vehicle fleet as possible. 8 “When the new standard is introduced, we will of course begin to gradually modernize our fleet in accordance with it,” says Blomqvist. Win in European competition In 2022, the fact that environmental friendliness is high on the company's agenda has also been proven to the outside world. During the year, Powder-Trans drivers took home a class win in the European competition AddSecure Eco-Driving Challenge. According to the 2021 figures, Powder-Trans was the best in the most prestigious class, best Eco Momentum. This meant that Powder-Trans was the transport company that achieved the largest reduction in carbon dioxide emissions in the year 2021, a total of 162 tonnes. The class is based on the number of drivers multiplied by the index improvement for each company. The index, in turn, is based on six different parameters: overspeed, idling, coasting, zero-throttle, heavy braking and decelerated energy. From Powder-Trans, all 184 drivers at the time took part in the competition. “The competition results in reduced emissions and encourages even more environmentally friendly transport. It has been part of our goals and development within Powder-Trans for decades,” says Fredrik Blomqvist. Blomqvist points out that much is due to the drivers. The win shows that they, together with the company, have come a long way in developing economical and anticipatory driving behaviour. A total of around 11,000 drivers from 75 transport companies in 6 European countries participated in the competition and its classes.

Rapid pace in environmental work New scholarship for the transport industry In recent years, the green transition has gained momentum in the transport industry. Powder-Trans is now looking towards, among other things, electric vehicles and an increased use of HVO fuel. In 2022, Powder-Trans established a new scholarship for studies in or otherwise promoting the transport industry in Finland. The scholarship bears the name of the company's chairman and founder Carl-Johan Blomqvist. Almost all truck manufacturers are currently taking big steps forward in the development of electric vehicles. Several manufacturers have launched new models in the past year, but as yet the battery capacity is not sufficient for the heaviest transports. “We constantly follow developments and are very interested in new solutions. Right now, however, we hope for an increased interest in HVO fuel and gas-powered transport among our customers. They are so far the most environmentally friendly for our types of transports,” says CEO Fredrik Blomqvist. In anticipation of efficient electric operation in heavier vehicle combinations, Powder-Trans has continued to electrify its forklifts in the terminals during the year. The forklifts used at the warehouse in Landskrona in Sweden are already electric. In 2022, a new electric forklift was also delivered to the terminal in Lieto, Finland. The goal is to shortly have the entire forklift fleet electrically powered in order to achieve the most ambitious environmental goals in all logistical stages. The new electric forklift in one of the warehouses in Lieto. The first application period ended in mid-November, but a new round of applications awaits next autumn. The scholarship of 2,000 euros will be awarded annually by Powder-Trans. “It might concern studying for a profession in the industry or otherwise working to promote the conditions within or increasing awareness of the transport sector in Finland,” says CEO Fredrik Blomqvist. Applications must be submitted in accordance with the regulations found on the Powder-Trans website where the application form can also be found. The selection of the scholarship re- cipient or recipients is made by a committee consisting of representatives of educational institutions, police authorities, other functions and media related to the transport industry, as well as representatives of Powder-Trans and the Blomqvist family. The recipient of the scholarship will in the future be appointed annually on the basis of applications received or according to the scholarship committee's own choice of recipient, even without an application. The establishment of the scholarship was announced in connection with Powder-Trans's 50th anniversary this spring. Expanded management team steers Powder-Trans During 2022, Powder-Trans has strengthened its management team with new members from the Swedish operations. Since the turn of the year, Key Account Manager Michael Stertman (far left in the picture) and Site Manager Rickard Haglund have been part of the group's management team. In September, the entire management team gathered in Finland for the first physical strategy meeting after the pandemic. In addition to Michael Stertman and Rickard Haglund, the management team now consists of Director of Operations Christian Blomqvist (third from the left), CEO Fredrik Blomqvist, CFO Oscar Strang, Quality and Warehouse Manager Juha Hietakari, Key Account Manager Robin Rosenberg and Fleet Manager Tero Viitanen. The management group has an industry-low average age of 43 years. 9

Our customer The pioneer who became a wor When the activated carbon industry took its first steps in the 1960s, the Jacobi group was already involved. Today, the company has the world's widest range of activated carbon. In 1916, the German emigrant Ferdinand Jacobi founded a small chemical company in Sweden, taking the first steps towards what, during the 20th century, would grow into a global industry-leading company. In the 60s, the company grew in the field of activated carbon production after becoming a distributor for the German pharmaceutical company Bayer. At that time, Jacobi’s business was still almost entirely concentrated on Scandinavia. “Today we are a large, international company, but we treat our small customers the same as the big ones. We fulfill whatever assignments we receive.” This is how Linda Magnusson, Sales Team Leader for Jacobi Carbon's Nordic operations, sums up part of the mindset that made the company what it is today. A lot happened in the early 2000s when Anders Skeini took over as CEO. Before Linda Magnusson emphasizes that everyone in a production and logistics chain is important in fulfilling the customer's wishes. that, the company had only one office. Today, there are about 40 offices and 20 production facilities. The company has the widest range of activated carbon in the industry, based on raw materials such as hard coal, lignite and wood. In addition, Jacobi is by far the world's largest producer of activated carbon based on coconut shells. “We have invested heavily in that area because we want to be the most sustainable player in this industry. Carbon based on coconut shells plays an Powder-Trans handles Jacobi's products in its warehouses in both Sweden and Finland. 10 important role in that respect,” says Magnusson. Keep aiming higher Coconut shells are the most sustainable commercial raw material for the production of activated carbon, but Jacobi wants to become even more sustainable. “One of our goals is to try to get more customers to switch from hard coal to coconut-based coal. Right now, we are also working hard to find several alternatives to the sources of raw materials, including ones that are closer to our customers,” says Magnusson. Jacobi's production facilities are spread across Asia, where the raw material comes from, and in Europe, where the carbon is reactivated. Reactivating carbon closer to customers is an alternative that brings recycling into the chain and reduces transport needs. The need for activated carbon is unlikely to decrease as it is needed in the purification of water and air and in many medicines. “We primarily sell activated carbon, but also ion exchange resin and filter service solutions that are needed in, for example, treatment plants of vari-

rld leader ous types. Those are our three business lines,” says Magnusson. The Jacobi group has customers all over the world and since 2014 has been owned by the Japanese Osaka Gas Chemicals. Despite this, the head office is still in Sweden. About 30 people work there, while the entire group employs over 2,000. “It's nice that we still have this family atmosphere. There I see similarities with Powder-Trans, which is also starting to become a really big company but still has this feeling,” says Magnusson. Jacobi is today the world's largest producer of activated carbon based on coconut shells. Responsibility in the Nordic region That feeling, as well as open and responsive communication, are some of the secrets behind the good collaboration between Jacobi and Powder-Trans. Powder-Trans today manages Jacobi's warehouse and bulk transport throughout the Nordic region, an overall responsibility that Jacobi appreciates. Powder-Trans is also very satisfied. Both Juha Hietakari, Warehouse Manager in Finland, and Rickard Haglund, Site Manager in Sweden, appreciate the good communication. “We come up with different ideas and solutions for transport, and it really feels like we are part of Jacobi,” says Haglund. Hietakari adds that they also inspect different unloading sites and plan different projects together. In Finland, Jacobi is a significant customer, especially on the warehouse side, and in Sweden is the single largest. Everyone is important The two parties also have the same mindset regarding the importance of different steps in the logistics chain, something that Linda Magnusson points out. “After all, we work directly with the customer, and Powder-Trans is an important link in that chain. Everyone who works in our company and at Powder-Trans, from production via warehouse to delivery, is important in that work.” Jacobi's collaboration with PowderTrans began with Finnish transports in the 90s. Later, the warehouse business started, and in the 2010s they began the collaboration in Sweden. There, too, Powder-Trans manages both bulk transport and storage. “We have collaborated with PowderTrans for a very long time. I have only worked at Jacobi for a year and a half, but during that time a lot has happened,” says Magnusson. ”We come up with different ideas and solutions.” She refers, among other things, to the fact that Powder-Trans in Sweden moved to Landskrona, which has given the collaboration the potential to both grow and develop. “In April 2022, we also redrew our contracts. Today we have one comprehensive agreement for transport and storage in both Finland and Sweden,” says Magnusson. Impressive environmental work Linda Magnusson appreciates the collaboration with Powder-Trans on several points: safety, environmental aspects, quality and efficiency. Jacobi has many customers of different sizes, which places extra demands on the transports. “Sometimes it can happen that a customer suddenly needs 18 tonnes of coal in three days. Another time it can be three tonnes. Together, we complete big and small jobs efficiently.” The environmental aspects are very important to Jacobi, which also invests in the well-being of its employees and the communities around them. All carriers must meet certain requirements, among them high environmental classes on vehicles. “Powder-Trans is a forerunner there, which is an advantage for us in procurements,” says Magnusson. Jacobi recently won a procurement where the customer was fascinated by Powder-Trans's forward-thinking environmental work, including the goal of having the entire vehicle fleet of the highest environmental class. In addition, Powder-Trans's investments in solar panels and electric forklifts in the warehouses are a big plus, as is the will to grow and improve. Magnusson looks forward to expanding their collaboration. “We talk continuously about the future and have a close dialogue about the need for transport and warehouse volumes.” 11

More than just driving At the beginning of the year, Karl-Anton Karlsson started a new position as driver trainer at Powder-Trans. His job involves teaching and further training for both new and experienced drivers with a checklist that includes everything from loading and programming route computers to customer service and environmentally friendly driving. “It has really been eye-opening to start as a trainer in the office. As a driver, you talked about the transport planning unit and wondered why they acted in a certain way. Now you see the whole picture. There is so much to consider.” So says Karlsson, a driver at PowderTrans since 2018 and from spring 2022 trainer for the company's well over 100 drivers. Before Powder-Trans, Karlsson worked on a farm, but as a trained forester and with an interest in large machines, the transport industry attracted him. “Since my father and brother both worked at Powder-Trans, it was an easy choice to come here. I haven't regretted it for a single day.” Driven by competition During his time as a driver, Karlsson drove both domestically and abroad, and also had the chance to drive one of Powder-Trans's largest combinations of 76 tons. Karlsson had not expected that the next step would be office work. “First I started in transport planning, then I was asked about this. With a small child at home, it felt like a good idea and 12 I became more and more interested. Back then I liked being in the truck, but now this fits me better. I have the same freedom and can be creative.” Another attractive factor was related to Karlsson's interest in economical driving. ”I like to compete against myself.” “I like to compete against myself. When we received the statistics from the driving computer every Monday about how economically and environmentally friendly we drove, it triggered me. I always wanted to get better.” Always room for improvement Now Karlsson works to teach some of those lessons to others, but his duties cover much more than that. They include both training of new drivers, follow-up, and further training of drivers who may have worked for decades in the company. “Perhaps the most difficult thing is to give advice to people who have driven all their lives. It’s not always so easy to call them about this,” says Karlsson with a laugh. Improving what already works well is what drives Karlsson. “You always want to do the job as well as possible, but also not burn bridges along the way.” With that, Karlsson means that the job can require some diplomacy. “You must be on good terms with the drivers since they are the ones who do a large part of the work. And in practice, everything is not always as easy as it is on paper.” Karlsson has taken that knowledge with him from his time as a driver. “I myself have had problematic situations as a driver, for example when I was loading and unloading. Now I can use them as an example. I know what life is like on the road, living alone in the cab for a week. If someone calls and complains about you then it can feel terribly personal. But, from the office's point of view, it's about trying to coordinate a large group of drivers and a lot of transports. One must always remember both sides.”

Since March, Powder-Trans has had a new financial director in Oscar Strang, and in Sweden the finance department has been strengthened New forces Oscar Strang sees growth potential at Powder-Trans but also appreciates the company's spirit and history. by the hiring of Sadia Lone. Both have an optimistic view of the future and are happy to work in a company with a positive corporate spirit and continued growth potential. For Oscar Strang, the first six months as the new financial director for Powder-Trans has meant taking in a lot of information. “I have familiarized myself with the company and listened to my colleagues. In the first two months especially there was a lot to take in. It was about sifting through all the information I had and figuring out what is important for my job.” Now after just over half a year in the post, it is clear that Strang is fully into the groove. He has already been involved in selecting and implementing a new accounting system, managing financing issues and starting budgeting work. As an economist and former business controller with experience in Nordic and multinational companies, and also a Nordic bus company, Strang saw Powder-Trans as a very attractive company to work for. “Large vehicles have always interested me. In addition, I thought that Powder-Trans is a similar company to the ones I previously worked for. So I felt that I could contribute something, Sadia Lone has strengthened the finance department in Sweden. in the finance department but at the same time it felt new and challenging.” Strang lists, among other things, how the business is freer and is based on many more factors than, for example, the bus business. It's not just the price that matters. “The business model and customers are completely different. Compared to the bus industry, you drive long distances, a lot more happens, the routes are less static and the activity can be measured with a completely different accuracy”, explains Strang. Forward looking work Measuring and following up on the business's numbers is exactly what Strang is responsible for, and what he, according to himself, does best. He is looking forward to developing Powder-Trans’s accounting processes. “My job is to be responsible for making sure the accounts are correct, keep track of financing, liaise with banks and accountants, and make sure we have the right resources. Budget work is of course also an important element. Thinking ahead and producing sound financial bases for decisions is the most interesting part of my work.” At his side, Strang has a well informed finance department that he greatly praises. “We have knowledgeable and experienced people in many positions. In addition, Powder-Trans has an impressive performance level. It stands out compared to the competition and gives the opportunity to drive the company forward and grow organically. It is very strong.” Reinforcement in Sweden In addition to Oscar Strang in Finland, Powder-Trans has also hired Sadia Lone as financial manager in Sweden in 2022. She chose Powder-Trans because of the positive spirit of the company. She, too, is looking forward to the results of the development work currently underway at Powder-Trans. “Most rewarding is the challenge of streamlining and structuring the financial work, and with the new accounting system, the financial work will be made more efficient,” she says. Lone has almost 20 years of experience as a finance manager at both large and small companies. In addition, she has worked on creating and implementing systems for a Danish company that founded a new subsidiary in Sweden. “Over the years, I have been responsible for customer and supplier ledgers, salaries, plant registers, VAT and tax returns, budgets, financial statements, annual reports and much more.” Lone's experience is therefore a great asset for Powder-Trans, something that Oscar Strang is also happy about. Lone is equally satisfied with and grateful for the cooperation with the head office in Finland. “I have received very good training and support from the financial office in Finland. The fact that Powder-Trans sees its employees as an asset and not a cost was one of the reasons I chose this job”, she concludes. 13

Our department Customized training – a matte One of Powder-Trans's trump cards is its own, extensive and tailored training for both new and experienced drivers. Occupational safety is prioritized, but the environment, quality and customer service are also considered. Powder-Trans has long had its own training department. After hiring a new trainer in Karl-Anton Karlsson in 2022, driver education has progressed. “Training drivers and monitoring their driving habits is time-consuming. Therefore, it is good that we have hired a person to do this full-time,” says Juha Hietakari, who is responsible for quality and training issues at Powder-Trans, among other things. Hietakari has previously handled part of the training himself and will continue to handle certain aspects. Thanks to the employment of Karlsson, Hietakari can now focus more on his other areas of responsibility, while education is strengthened. Safety is prioritized Occupational safety is always the priority in Powder-Trans's training activities. The goal is to minimize the risk of accidents both in traffic and during loading and unloading. Powder-Trans’s own tailored training is approved by the transport and communications agency Traficom. “When we are training our drivers to receive the occupational health safety card, we can use examples from real life. It is easier to absorb the information and the training becomes more rewarding. At the same time, we can learn from potential situations,” says Hietakari. The occupational safety card training ”Safety is a high priority.” is mandatory for Powder-Trans drivers. Most of the drivers also attend a first aid course. For new drivers, understanding safety and correct working methods are the focus. “When a new driver is hired, they may go on transport assignments with a colleague for a few days. After that, there will be theoretical training and various practical questions, such as working clothes and learning computer programs. Finally, an evaluation is made. Everything is flexible according to how quickly the driver learns, and everyone learns at a different pace,” says Karl- Anton Karlsson. In addition to the first weeks of training, the drivers are monitored and educated throughout their career. How this is done depends on the driver. “It is usually done individually. Sometimes it is done by phone, sometimes I go along on a transport mission. Some drivers want to go through issues together,” says Karlsson. More complex in bulk transport In addition to the training sessions themselves, the work in the training department involves both planning and follow-up. Karlsson compiles training material, monitors statistics and prepares reports. “I also monitor the drivers' economic and environmentally friendly driving daily. The weekly report is a very important tool and clearly shows what can be improved. If you are interested, economical driving is not difficult. It's a matter of attitude,” says Karlsson, who himself had a great interest in sustainable driving when he worked as a driver. Overall, the training aims to devel- Powder-Trans has previously arranged practice sessions on a slippery track to prepare the drivers for difficult autumn and winter conditions on the Nordic country roads. 14

Mistakes in unloading can lead to major problems. I usually say that the driver should take an extra few minutes and make sure that everything is done correctly. Cleanliness is another matter, as is safety. It can mean large financial losses and hundreds of tons of waste if something is unloaded and mixed incorrectly,” says Karlsson. Therefore, the training department is working hard to improve knowledge of these aspects. Quality is a watchword, and thanks to Powder-Trans already having such a knowledgeable staff, they aim even higher. That pleases Karlsson. “We have truly professional people at work. That Powder-Trans has become such a well-functioning company would not have been possible without good drivers.” “Such following-up has already been done but should be expanded,” he suggests. Then one could follow up the same parameters again after a month or two to analyze the improvement. Karl-Anton Karlsson agrees. “Safety is a high priority. But you can also always improve your economical driving. Especially now with high energy prices and ongoing crises, you want to optimize even more.” This benefits both the environment and the economy, and by extension, society and the customer as well. Powder-Trans's training department is there to motivate improvement among the workforce. “Training is based more on the idea of the carrot than the stick. I'm here to help,” says Karlsson. The carrot before the stick Even though you have come a long way, there is always room for improvement. Juha Hietakari points out that the training follow-up could be increasingly performed in real time throughout the day as the driver is driving, loading, and unloading. Safety and cleanliness are important aspects when loading and unloading. 15

Powder-Trans and Nordic Tank's joint project at the Elmia truck fair in Sweden. Successful trade fairs for Powder-Trans In August, Powder-Trans participated in both the Finnish Power Truck Show and the Swedish Elmia Lastbil fair. Both events gave Powder-Trans strengthened partnerships, new contacts, and visions for the future. Future challenges as well as well-functioning ongoing collaborations were in focus when the Nordics' largest truck fair Elmia Lastbil was organized in Jönköping at the end of August. Powder-Trans participated together with the tank manufacturer Nordic Tank. At the joint stand, the two companies presented their joint and unique pilot project, the brand-new bulk combination, which is presented in more detail on p. 3 of this magazine. For Powder-Trans, it was a pleasure to be able to present its business again and make contacts at fairs after the break during the corona pandemic. During the four days in the 75,000 square meter area, exhibitions, competitions, seminars, and debates were offered. At Elmia Lastbil, exhibitors and visitors also learned more about the ongoing green transition in the industry and other news including new technology and new vehicles, such as Powder-Trans and Nordic Tank's new combination. During the fair, the need to strengthen cooperation within the industry to meet tomorrow's challenges, from environ- 16 mental to personnel issues, was also emphasized. The fair, which in 2022 was organised for the twentieth time, brought together entrepreneurs, drivers, politicians, students, and other interested parties. A total of 321 exhibitors and over 30,000 visitors participated. Together they represented 17 different countries. Large audience in Finland Powder-Trans's second fair during the summer was also successful. At the beginning of August, the big Finnish event Power Truck Show in Alahärmä brought together 32,000 visitors and 150 exhibition stands. The vehicle exhibition broke a record with a whopping 502 vehicles. At the Power Truck Show, PowderTrans and board chairman Carl-Johan Blomqvist also displayed their refurbished vintage trucks, a Scania LBS 76 from the 1960s and a Volvo F12 from the 1970s. At the event, CarlJohan Blomqvist was also awarded the Elämäntyö prize, which is presented in more detail on the next page. The Power Truck Show was organized in 2022 for the eighteenth time and will be organized again in 2023, while Elmia Lastbil will return in 2024. In 2022, Powder-Trans also attended the IAA transport fair in Hannover, Germany to stay on top of industry developments.

Carl-Johan Blomqvist's life's work recognized Powder-Trans's founder and chairman of the board, Carl-Johan Blomqvist, has been awarded the Elämäntyö prize for his life's work in the transport industry. In addition, Finland's entrepreneurs (Suomen Yrittäjät) have awarded him the Diamond Cross for 50 years of entrepreneurship. The Elämäntyö prize is awarded annually for a lifetime’s work in the transport industry. In 2022, the prize went to Powder-Trans founder Carl-Johan Blomqvist. The two awards acknowledge CarlJohan's achievement in having been active in the transport industry for five decades, and in providing the driving force behind the company from its founding in 1972 until today. Carl-Johan received his first award in August, the Elämäntyö prize, which is granted annually at the major national event for the truck industry, the Power Truck Show in Alahärmä in Finland. “It was a big surprise. It's a nice award and I value it very highly,” says CarlJohan. He received the award for his decades-spanning entrepreneurial efforts in the transport industry. The same motivation was behind the following award that Carl-Johan received at the beginning of October. He was then awarded the Finnish entrepreneur's badge of merit for 50 years of entrepreneurship, the Diamond Cross. “To receive these awards for having run a transport company and managed to grow it at a steady pace is heartwarming. That others want to draw attention to what you have worked on is really satisfying,” says Carl-Johan. Powder-Trans visible in recruiting At the beginning of the autumn, Powder-Trans participated in the recruitment day Avantirekry 2022. The event was organized by several educational institutions and the city of Lieto, where Powder-Trans has its Finnish terminal and company headquarters. A total of eleven companies with operations in the Avanti business area were involved in the event. Participants had the opportunity to get to know the companies who in turn could market various work opportunities and activities. Powder-Trans was visited by around thirty people, many of whom study logistics. From Powder-Trans's side, the hosts were Director of Operations Christian Blomqvist with Quality and Warehouse Manager Juha Hietakari, Key Account Manager Robin Rosenberg, HR coordinator Mari Nurminen and Sture Holm, who assists the company in various communication and business matters. In addition to the recruitment opportunities offered at various national fairs and events in Finland, Germany and Sweden during the year, Powder-Trans also participated in a recruitment fair in Lieto during the spring. Carl-Johan's renovated Scania LBS 76 bulk truck from the 1960s also won a prize at the Power Truck Show. 17

My job Skilled hands behind every vehicle Everything from planning metal parts to refitting bulk tanks is included in Jussi Palo's job description. A quarter of his working time is spent in front of the computer screen. A modern vehicle fleet is one of Powder-Trans's trump cards. But in such a niche industry as dry bulk transport, much more is required for the vehicles to function as efficiently and smoothly as possible. Jussi Palo and his colleagues see to that at Powder-Trans’s own workshop at the terminal in Lieto. “Usually, the working day begins with the collecting and assembling of parts for projects that will be worked on with colleagues during the day. Of course, it is part of our industry that every day can hold surprise challenges. We then try to address them alongside other projects,” says Palo. ”There are rarely dull moments.” Palo is one of the creative and knowledgeable mechanics and fitters who carry out, among other things, basic repairs on trailers, conversion work on bulk tanks, planning new projects and parts, as well as installing equipment in the Powder-Trans workshop. “It is good to have variety at work, 18 Jussi Palo likes the versatility of the workshop assignments. and there are rarely dull moments. My fun colleagues also see to that,” says Palo. Important planning Palo completed his first assignments for Powder-Trans in 2013. Since then, many projects have been completed including metal work of all kinds, and planning and designing parts and equipment. “The working day often ends with planning the following day's projects. Around a quarter of my working time is spent sitting in front of the computer,” says Palo. Palo appreciates the demanding work. The projects that require problem solving are the most interesting, but it’s good to not have too many challenges. “The best part of the job is when a project that we have worked on for a long time is finished and rolls out of the hall.” During the autumn, the workshop team was employed, among other things, on renovating a bulk tank and mounting it on a new chassis. Such work is common because bulk tanks have a much longer life than chassis and tractors. Palo and the rest of the team work on optimizing everything from equipment to the characteristics of the vehicle, considering efficiency, environment and quality. Succeeding together In recent years, Powder-Trans has invested heavily in the workshop in Lieto. In 2020, new working spaces were completed and since then new systems and methods have been put into use. “A lot has been invested here in recent years, but I’m sure there is more to develop. There is always something to improve,” says Palo. Together with his colleagues, Palo is in any case happy about every small improvement, new solutions and, of course, completed projects. Succeeding both on your own and together with the team is a highly motivating factor. “It is always nice when you or one of your colleagues succeeds in a work task that previously caused problems,” he says.

LNG is now LBG In 2022, Powder-Trans switched from liquefied natural gas, LNG, to liquefied biogas, LBG, in its gas-powered bulk truck. Liquid biogas is a more environmentally friendly alternative to gasoline – and is also produced relatively locally. LBG is produced from, among other things, biodegradable waste and by-products from households, the business sector, industries, treatment plants, and agriculture. LBG is a 100 percent renewable fuel that, over its lifetime, can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 90 percent compared to traditional fuel. LBG minimizes emissions of nitrogen and sulphur oxides to almost nothing. The price of LBG varies in different countries due to high demand and expensive production costs. Nonetheless, it has several advantages as it is usually produced close to consumers and releases only the same amount of carbon dioxide that would otherwise be released in the natural decomposition process of the biomass. In the future, Powder-Trans hopes that their customers' interest in LBG will increase further. The LBG fuel that Powder-Trans uses is produced in the Nordic region. New loading equipment in use The new equipment in Lieto makes loading more environmentally friendly and improves working conditions for the warehouse staff. Now, the loading equipment in both Finland and Sweden is modernised. A new loading machine has been commissioned in 2022 in the terminal in Lieto, similar to the one that was commissioned in autumn 2021 at the terminal in Landskrona, Sweden. The Lieto machine has been developed and constructed by Powder-Trans's own warehouse and workshop staff. At the new machine, contents can be emptied from big bags in a feeding facility in protected indoor storage conditions. The material is fed in a screwshaped feeder via a loading tube and passes through the warehouse wall directly into the hatches of the bulk tanks on the vehicle located outside. According to Warehouse and Quality Manager Juha Hietakari the system is much more environmentally friendly than previous methods and provides better working conditions for warehouse staff. In recent years, Powder-Trans has made significant investments in expanded storage facilities and modernised equipment in both Finland and Sweden. In Lieto the warehouse space has been expanded, and in Sweden the operations moved in 2021 from Dalby to Landskrona, with larger and more efficient spaces near the port. The big bags are moved by truck from the warehouse to the indoor machine. From there, the material goes via the feeder directly outside into the vehicles' bulk tanks. 19

Our supplier Long-term partnership is t With the goal of achieving the most efficient transport operation possible, the cooperation between Finnish companies BPW Kraatz and Powder-Trans has developed successfully over the years. In order for daily transports to continue without interruptions, damage and delays, technology is crucial. On that point, the company BPW Kraatz has an important role to play for Powder-Trans and the transport industry. “In all of our operations, we strive to take into account future requirements and the cost-effectiveness of the customer's transport equipment throughout its operational life. Therefore, we only offer well-thought-out solutions that are based on expertise and long experience.” So says Henrik Danielsson, CEO of BPW Kraatz, which in 2022 has celebrated 100 years of business. The company is the market leader in the field of automotive technology, has a turnover of over 50 million euros, and offers its customers everything from suspension systems and slewing rings to struts and tie rods, as well as a comprehensive spare parts service. Electronics, add-ons, fleet management systems and much more are also provided via key suppliers. In total, the company has thousands of products and service solutions. “The acquisition of transport equipment is a long-term investment. Its productivity and profitability must be carefully considered each time. Everything we do is focused on long-term credibility, which will keep our business going for the next 100 years,” says Danielsson. “We are a Finnish company, with a knowledgeable and committed staff who work intensively to provide added value to the manufacturing vehicle industry, truck workshops, and our end customers.” A dynamic transport industry and changing legislation, both in Finland and at the EU level, require a constantly watchful eye. Legislation can concern safety and maximum weights, or sustainability and environmental aspects. Different laws and directives can change quickly. According to Danielsson, BPW Kraatz has managed to meet this challenge very well, mainly thanks to its good contacts and knowledgeable staff. ”Everything we do is focused on long-term credibility” A watchful eye Henrik Danielsson, CEO at BPW Kraatz, points out the need for a long-term perspective to achieve success. Henrik Danielsson points out that BPW Kraatz has stuck to its values since its inception in 1922, even though the business has grown and the industry has changed. “Their task is to be up to date with market needs, actively communicate with suppliers and manufacturers, and convey crucial information back to our market. We also have direct contacts Finnish company BPW Kraatz is part of the international dealer network BPW Aftermarket Group, which consists of over 170 dealers in around 20 countries. the key to success with both authorities and trade associations.” Functional interaction Trust is a factor that Danielsson wants to highlight in his company's customer relations as well. This applies not least to the collaboration with Powder-Trans. “A good collaboration requires trust from all parties and personal contacts. The cooperation with our end customers is extremely important and our interaction with Powder-Trans is a good example of how you can find solutions to both difficult and critical challenges, and also think about the future.” According to Danielsson, PowderTrans is an important customer on many different levels and within different product and service categories. “I hope that we can continue in the same spirit and that both parties continue to develop their own key business as pioneers in the industry. It will benefit both parties as well as the transport industry in general.” Long-term cooperation At Powder-Trans, the philosophy is the same. Fleet Manager Tero Viitanen points out that the collaboration with BPW Kraatz has worked very well. “We have a lot of contact on various issues, for example around how we can jointly develop traffic and work safety.” The collaboration already began in the 1990s but has been expanded in connection with several joint projects during the 2000s. According to Viitanen, the collaboration is very important for Powder-Trans's vehicle fleet to be as modern, efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly as possible. That both parties have celebrated notable anniversaries in 2022 - Powder-Trans 50 and BPW Kraatz 100 years - is extra gratifying. Tero Viitanen is happy that the cooperation between BPW Kraatz and Powder-Trans can be strengthened through various joint development projects. Powder-Trans defies the driver shortage The industry continues to struggle, but PowderTrans has succeeded in recruiting new personnel. Modern vehicles, interesting tasks and high satisfaction levels are important reasons. The driver shortage has been a problem across Europe for many years. Some reports have shown that nearly half a million professional drivers are needed. In the Nordic countries, the problem has been less acute, but here too the issue has been relevant. At Powder-Trans, they have succeeded in recruiting new drivers, despite the shortage. “The driver shortage is not yet such a big problem for us. Through good contacts and other recruitment avenues we have worked hard to find drivers, and succeeded,” says Christian Blomqvist, Director of Operations at Powder-Trans with responsibility for personnel matters. Internationally, the pandemic, Brexit, various structural changes and even the war in Ukraine have exacerbated the driver shortage in Europe. PowderTrans therefore works proactively to continue to be an attractive option for new drivers. “Our best calling cards are the modern vehicles and also the drivers themselves,” says Blomqvist. Long-term working conditions show that Powder-Trans has succeeded. Quality, work variety and a high level of job satisfaction are crucial. Internationally, the difficulties in attracting some groups to the industry are also highlighted. The proportion of women and young people in the job is decreasing in most areas. Even on that point, however, Powder-Trans has succeeded, with several women and young drivers in the workforce. 21

Successful reorganization completed in Sweden A little over a year ago, Powder-Trans moved its Swedish operations to new premises in Landskrona. Since then, the staff has also been reorganized with good results. The future is bright. Apart from the move itself, one of the biggest changes is that Rickard Haglund has taken over as site manager. After almost ten years at Powder-Trans, a total of 15 years as a transport organizer and before that as a bulk truck driver, Haglund has vast experience. ”I enjoy challenges and varied tasks” “It makes it much easier to have that experience and knowledge with me, both in the work with our customers and within the company. I enjoy challenges and varied tasks, which I get in my new role.” Haglund started work as site manager in January 2022. In addition to responsibility for operations in Landskrona, he is also HR manager in Sweden. Together with Michael Stertman, who in the new organization is responsible for sales in Sweden, Haglund also works with marketing. “With Michael, I have also built up a wider group of drivers in Sweden, which we are very proud of, but we are not quite there yet,” says Haglund. Burim Hykolli is the new transport organizer in Swed already worked for seven years at Powder-Trans, he destinations as efficiently as possible. Enjoyment and know-how With Haglund taking over as site manager, Powder-Trans has also hired Burim Hykolli as a new transport organizer in Sweden. He too has over 15 years of experience in the transport industry and sees a positive future for Powder-Trans in Sweden. “We are a good group here in Sweden and have very talented and flexible drivers who help us in our daily work.” In his role, Hykolli is responsible for daily operational logistics work by allocating resources to be as efficient, sustainable and financially profitable as possible. It is about the whole, but also problem solving and reporting. In all this, he works closely with Philip Linderberg, who is in his seventh year as transport organizer at Powder-Trans Sweden. According to Linderberg, the reorganization and the move to Landskrona is an improvement. “The work itself has not changed, but we have come closer to our warehouse operations and staff. It's positive, and I have enjoyed the changes very much.” Investments in the warehouse Sales Manager Michael Stertman (seated) and Site Manager Rickard Haglund lead Powder-Trans' operations in Sweden. 22 Linderberg also sees the future positively in Landskrona and hopes that the business can be expanded. That is something the team in Sweden and Rickard Haglund are working towards. “We have been in Landskrona for just

Long-standing collaboration with Saint-Gobain extended In 2022, Powder-Trans renewed its transport agreement in Sweden for the global building materials group Saint-Gobain and its Weber brand. The agreement is even more extensive than before, covering thousands of cargoes annually, and extending to 2025. den. Together with Philip Linderberg, who has e ensures that the Swedish transports reach their over a year now. Time has passed quickly, and a lot has happened, but there is also a lot left to work on. We see great potential in a more modern warehouse and larger offices, which have improved overall well-being. We have also gotten closer to the highways and the traffic we work with. It facilitates both contacts and visits,” says Haglund. ”We are a good group here in Sweden and have very talented and flexible drivers” With the ongoing upheavals in both the economy and world situation, it is difficult to predict the future, but Haglund is hopeful. “The company has worked hard to adapt the pricing to the high fuel costs. Some of our customers have also been severely affected, which affects transport. But we constantly review the situation and offer different solutions. Together with the staff, I will continue to aim high and hope for a successful 2023.” The agreement covers deliveries to and from Saint-Gobain's Weber putty industries in Sweden. Weber will now become one of Powder-Trans's largest customers in Sweden. Michael Stertman, Sales Manager for PowderTrans Sweden, is very satisfied. “It feels really good that we have been trusted with these assignments for the next three years. We have long experience of carrying out transports of finished putty products to Weber's own depots around the country, and directly to their pump trucks that are at workplaces.” The drives to the pump trucks require extensive planning from the drivers as the unloading is difficult, performed under time pressure and is often carried out in areas where you do not normally drive trucks. That's where Powder-Trans's specialist know-how comes in handy. Effective solutions The largest cargo that Powder-Trans transports for Saint-Gobain Weber in Sweden, around 1,000 full deliveries annually, consists of raw materials for Weber's production in Vingåker. “There, for example, we have added two shifts on a truck that never drives any other material. In this way we increase efficiency as we don't have to clean the crew's containers between loads,” says Stertman. Efficiency and quality are two of the aspects that Powder-Trans invests heavily in. According to Stertman, the success in these areas is proven by the new agreement. “The collaboration with Saint-Gobain in Sweden began in 2020. At the start we had a lot to organise. For example, we had to reorganize personnel, designate special vehicles for special materials, and make customized solutions in the construction of the cars to make it easier for both us and the customer. I think that the continued trust demonstrates our success in this.” The new agreement has an option for further extension. Stertman hopes for a continuation, especially since the two companies share many similar values. “We eagerly look forward to the future environmental work that SaintGobain will carry out and hope that we can become part of it.” Peace of mind for all For Powder-Trans, the new agreement means security and the opportunity for development. This is partly due to the use by Powder-Trans of their new fuel surchage, which has more or less become an industry standard due to the changed world situation in 2022. “Our customers and Saint-Gobain all understand the value and security of this. It provides peace of mind for both parties,” says Stertman. With the new agreement, PowderTrans has strengthened its presence in the Swedish market, which already previously accounted for more than a third of the entire group's transport assignments. The new agreement covers a total of thousands of loads annually in Sweden. In addition, Powder-Trans and Saint-Gobain Weber have extensive cooperation in Finland. 23

Record number of new vehicles More follow-up resources in place In recent years, the annual During the autumn, Powder-Trans implemented a new accounting program. With it, manual work is reduced, information is collated, and follow-up and analysis tasks get more resources. renewal of the Powder-Trans fleet has meant the addition of almost 20 new vehicles. In 2022, the fleet has been renewed and expanded with a record 24 vehicles. Because of delivery difficulties for vehicle manufacturers, all the orders placed in 2021 could not be fulfilled. In 2022, a record number of new vehicles have therefore been put into service at Powder-Trans. The new acquisitions have been delivered quite evenly throughout the year. Powder-Trans performs the bulk tank replacements at its own workshop in Lieto. In the workshop, they also construct their own auxiliary frames and make improvements to them and superstructures. According to Fleet Manager Tero Viitanen, the year has been quite challenging. “Due to the lack of components, we have had some minor delays, but thanks to hiring several new fitters, we have managed to keep to the timetable,” says Viitanen. Powder-Trans's vehicle fleet consists of around 120 vehicle combinations. The vehicles are almost exclusively from the three market-leading brands for heavy trucks: Scania, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo. This year's new arrivals consist of equal numbers of Scania and Mercedes-Benz vehicles, and a smaller number from Volvo. 24 Introduction of the new program has been planned for some time but began in the spring of 2022. “One of my first major tasks in the new job was to find the right management tools for us. It has involved a lot of work, thinking about what is important to us and what suits our business and staff,” says Oscar Strang, who took over as CFO in March 2022. Soon Powder-Trans found a well-functioning product that makes things much easier. The fact that it works equally well throughout the Nordics is a big plus, and something that Strang says is quite rare. “This is a modern, comprehensive accounting program. Our previous one was quite old, the information was more scattered and the program more complicated. Now most things are brought together in one program.” Through the new program, Powder- Trans can better organise the handling of invoices and payments. More of the manual work is automated, various steps are eliminated and the risk of mistakes is reduced. “Especially for our Swedish operations, this is a big step. There, a lot was handled manually. Now there is better control, and fewer steps. It gives more time for analysis and follow-up,” says Strang. Despite the major changes that are underway, Powder-Trans and Strang are already looking forward to the next stage. “After this, the reporting system and Business Intelligence await improvements. Then we can make the budgeting and planning process even better. There will be a lot of work in 2023. But first the foundation must be laid,” the CFO concludes. The first 6-axle trailer in traffic In the spring of 2022, Powder-Trans's first 6-axle trailer was put into service. The trailer has been manufactured to help understand how different axle designs in the Powder-Trans vehicle fleet affect fuel consumption and durability.

Profile Great help on a long journey Countless people have made decisive contributions to Powder-Trans's development ever since its inception in 1972. In connection with the company's 50th anniversary in 2022, many of them were able The friendship and gratitude between Keijo Kujanpää and Carl-Johan Blomqvist remains. to meet and reminisce. Many people have helped make Powder-Trans successful during its more than 50 years of operation. Outside the company a handful stand out, all of them in their own way "transport profiles" in the Finnish trucking and transport industry. “These people were really important, both those who were our customers and those who were our suppliers. I learned a lot from them and received important help as the company grew. In many ways, they were decisive during various stages of the company's development,” says Carl-Johan Blomqvist, Powder-Trans's founder and current chairman of the board. Among these people is Keijo Kujanpää who worked at Raisio Chemicals. Kujanpää took a risk when he gave the still quite small Powder-Trans a large transport contract in the 90s. The risk-taking paid off and took Powder-Trans to a new level in its development. Another important transport manager was Mauri Vikeväinen at the A. Ahlström Group, who became one of Powder-Trans's first and most import- ant customers. The experienced Vikeväinen was of great help when the young Carl-Johan was to get different traffic permits. Bror Nyström from Nordkalk was also an important customer and partner. “Without these people, PowderTrans's development would certainly have looked different,” says Carl-Johan Blomqvist. Markku Nenonen was a salesman at Volvo. Raimo Mäkinen ran a workshop and trailer manufacturing. Important suppliers The same applies to the collaborations with several different truck salesmen, among them Markku Nenonen and Reima Heino, salesmen at Volvo, and Bror-Torsten Roos, salesman at Scan-Auto. Other significant people were Raimo Mäkinen who ran a workshop with a spare parts warehouse and manufactured trailers in southern Finland, and Pekka Peräsalo who worked at Aspo (which, after several name changes, eventually became Neste) and was responsible for fuel sales to transport companies. Carl-Johan Blomqvist has many good memories of all these partners. In connection with Powder-Trans's 50th anniversary and the festivities in May 2022, Mauri, Bror-Torsten, Raimo, Pekka, Reima, Keijo and Carl-Johan met again. Seeing the former partners and friends again made Carl-Johan very happy. “The fact that they could come was really nice, and to be able to tell them about how Powder-Trans works today and how important they were to the company's history, and in that way to thank them, felt good.” ”Without these people, Powder-Trans's development would certainly have looked different” You can read more about most of these "transport profiles" in the Powder-Trans company history published in connection with the 50th anniversary in 2022. Their stories show the importance of the partnerships Powder-Trans still concentrates on in its daily operations. Reima Heino sold trucks for Volvo. 25

Vintage corner Every year, the veteran truck association Vetku organizes a summer drive that lets the enthusiasts behind the association and their restored trucks air themselves. In 2022 the summer run went to Jyväskylä. After two years where driving activities were curtailed, there was a lot of enthusiasm among the members when Vetku once again organized its various excursions. Vetku organizes three runs annually, one in the spring and one in the autumn, as well as the popular summer run. “The most important thing is to meet and talk to like-minded people. Secondly, you always see newly restored cars, and thirdly, you usually visit places you would otherwise never visit,” says Vetku's chairman Juha Helin. This year's successful summer run started in Jämsänkoski and went via Petäjävesi to Jyväskylä, from Friday to Sunday 17-19 June. The runs have been organized since 1989 and in many ways belong to the summer and the association. Helin is satisfied and, smiling, lists another positive thing about the runs. “Fourth, you get to drive old vehicles. It's always fun when you don't have to do it for a living but as a hobby.” Always a good atmosphere Carl-Johan Blomqvist, Powder-Trans’s founder and chairman of the board, took part in this year's summer drive with his restored Scania-Vabis LBS 76. He also had his wife Sonja by his side. They started from Turku together with other participants on Thursday. “We didn't want to drive on major roads, so we planned a route with smaller roads and beautiful scenery, and stopped and drank coffee here and there in more interesting places,” says Blomqvist. An interesting program In Jämsänkoski they then joined up with the other participants, a total of 102 vintage trucks which were divided into a couple of groups. There, the participants visited the Gradia training center which offers studies in logistics and transport. The main destination of the trip was the nail factory Koskensaaren naulatehdas in Petäjävesi, central Fin- land's longest continuously operating factory, built in 1850. In addition, two transport companies and the Finnish Crafts Museum were visited. On Sunday it was home again. “The great atmosphere among us enthusiasts is the absolute best thing about the summer runs. It is also nice to see how people are interested in the column of old trucks,” says Blomqvist. In addition, the association's members exchange contacts and memories and can also help each other find spare parts for their restoration projects. According to Blomqvist, being able to show off the restored trucks and spread a touch of nostalgia to the public, both along the roads and at the various exhibitions organized along the route, is another plus. “Many people say that they remember the cars from when they were young or when they had started in the industry. It is wonderful.” Publisher: Powder-Trans Photo: Juuso Savolainen, Sture Holm and Production: Oy HolmMediaData Ab Powder-Trans image archives Planning & layout: Sture Holm Translation: Nick Barlow Text: Christoffer Holm Layout: Ab Pixaton Oy Print: Paino-Kaarina Oy
